Published in conjunction with Tse Yim On’s inaugural solo exhibition at iPRECIATION Hong Kong, this monograph showcases the acclaimed Hong Kong artist’s exhibited paintings. Tse Yim On, a daring commentator of the Hong Kong government, grew up heavily influenced by cartoons and the caricatured style of Japanese anime. His works are playful on the surface, but embody political and societal sensitivities behind the flashy visual appearance of the image.
This catalogue includes a concise overview of his unique canvas books, one of which won Tse the coveted Hong Kong Urban Council Fine Art Award in 1999. It is accompanied by two essays written by Professor Kurt Chan Yuk Keung and Poon Tingyi.
