Su Shi – When It is Clear, the RipplesGleam on This Beautiful Lake

Su Shi Viewing the West Lake on a Clear Day After RainSecond of Two Poems

The lake, sparkling brightly under the sunny sky, is a splendid sight; misty mountains shrouded in rain present a wondrous scene.

If I were to compare West Lake to the beauty Xi Shi,

she would be equally enchanting with light or heavy makeup.
