Raising my wine cup in honor of the eastern breeze,

let us enjoy in ease.

Willows drape along the violets lined path of eastern Luoyang.

We used to hold hands in bygone days, strolling through flower thickets and tussocks.

Meeting and parting in bitter haste,

forever leaving regrets.

The blossoms this year surpass last year’s brilliance.

Though next year’s blossom will be more brilliant,

who knows whose company I would be in.
