Zhang’s art conveys his perceptive ideas about time, culture and memory; and this profound aspect of his creations would probably mean that the discerning audience might just have to spend more than a hasty moment to effectively appreciate his intellectual works. Now, what better way to understand the art than to have the artist personally explain about his works? This was precisely what the lucky attendees at the opening received as Zhang provided them with a comprehensive tour through the gallery. As the guests listened attentively to Zhang’s elucidations about his art, the agreement was unanimous- Zhang Jian-Jun’s art is tantamount to a breath of fresh air into the contemporary art scene of today. It is cognitively stimulating and without a doubt, unique! “ Zhang Jian-Jun: Vestiges of a Process” will extend till 28 April 2007. |
SINGAPORE - “Zhang Jian-Jun: Vestiges of a Process” opened successfully on 12 April 2007 and this marked Zhang’s inaugural solo-exhibition in Singapore. This exhibition was held at iPRECIATION, Fullerton Hotel where Zhang and his wife, Barbara Edelstein, both attended.
