WANG WOWS THE CROWD


SINGAPORE - 22 March 2007 saw the immensely successful opening reception for The Art of Wang Weixin: A solo-exhibition featuring the works by Wang Weixin that not only attracted the media’s attention (see http://www.artscentral.sg & http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/
view/265723/1/.html), but also produced a considerable turn-out.

Inaugurating the exhibition, guest-of-honour, Dr. Zhu Qi (Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of China in Singapore), offered the guests a meaningful speech elucidating the art of his “neighbour” and confidante Wang.

As guests were drawn into the special fleeting moments in his entrancing water-colour paintings, the endearing artist himself was present to personally provide first-hand accounts about his works to the guests that included ardent art collectors, art professors and editors of art publications, among others.

While the incredibly friendly Wang and his wife mingled with the crowd, compliments on his art poured ceaselessly. Indeed, the general consensus was evident; The Art of Wang Weixin was nothing less than amazing.
