iPRECIATION AT KIAF IN SEOUL, KOREA

SEOUL- Exhibiting within a spacious 52m 2 booth at the COEX exhibition centre in Seoul, iPRECIATION was the sole Singaporean representative at the Korea International Art Fair (KIAF) 2007 among the 208 participating galleries from around the world (with over 116 Korean galleries). Located in the Pacific Hall of the enormous exhibition hall, iPRECIATION stood out vastly from the other exhibitors with our eclectic range of prominent and distinctive works.

Graced with the delightful presence of the Ambassador from the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Korea during the preview of KIAF (8 May), iPRECIATION’s main defined objective was to introduce and promote our represented artists to the Korean market. Besides attracting the local art fair goers, iPRECIATION also drew the attention of art connoisseurs, having been invited to participate in an array of prestigious art fairs due to the “strength” of our artworks on display.

Despite the language barrier, powerful art proved to be an effective mode of communication with works by master sculptors Ju Ming and Cheung Yee as well as Nobel Laureate Gao Xingjian receiving great attention. The artists to look out for however were emerging talents Budi Ubrux and Ye Jian Qing whose oil paintings were the focus of the majority of the Korean crowd.

Closing on 13 May, iPRECIATION’s first experience in Seoul at KIAF 2007 was a great success, having established new networks to further enhance our artists and their fascinating works to a wider spectrum of art enthusiasts. KIAF 2008 perhaps?
