The official Singapore launch of Budi Ubrux (b. 1968) witty oil on canvas paintings will happen at iPRECIATION in March 2008! The winner of the Philip Morris Indonesian Art Award in 2000, Budi is a rare talent who devotes painstaking effort in his imaginative works that depict a fundamental idea of “mediated reality” by drawing inspiration from the newspapers.

27th – 30th March will mark the very first American art fair venture for iPRECIATION that will be Bridge Art Fair New York [link to Bridge art fair website news]. To be held at the Waterfront Building, otherwise known as “The Tunnel”, we will feature five of our prominent Chinese and Overseas Chinese artists including Nobel Laureate GAO XINGJIAN (b. 1940), Fukuoka Arts and Culture prize recipient JU MING (b.1938) and conferee of the Member class of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, (MBE) CHEUNG YEE (b. 1936).

ZHANG JIAN-JUN (b. 1955) and YE JIAN QING (b. 1972) complete the line of talented artists on exhibit at the fair. Both art talents create works that are strikingly unique in the Chinese art scene today and have won important recognition internationally. Zhang was commissioned to create his exceptional scholar rock sculpture for the Golden Awards Party 2007 while Ye’s solo-exhibitions at iPreciation Singapore 2005, 2006 and at Exchange Square in Hong Kong were sold out.
